The Waikato Symphonic Band
Celebrating Music and Community
Waikato Symphonic Band is comprised of members of many ages; from high school students, and tertiary/university students, to members of the workforce.
The band performs community concerts, as well as regional festivals, such as the Matamata Festival of Bands, and the Hawke's Bay Festival of Bands, where the band has consistently performed to a high standard, earning them many Gold awards.
New members welcome, Woodwind, Brass and Percussion.

Meet Our Conductor
Kimberly Ransom is a musician and conductor based in Hamilton.
A recent transplant to NZ from the US, Kimberly brings her degree in music education, experience as a band director, and performance skills to the WSB.
Kimberly believes that creating music is a communal activity, and that everyone should have the opportunity to work together to create music- no matter the skill level or background.
In addition to her work with the WSB, Kimberly plays trumpet with the TWSO and Rusty Players, and teaches piano and trumpet lessons.

The Waikato Symphonic Band is a national award-winning group based in Hamilton, New Zealand. The band welcomes players of all ages and skill levels! The band focuses on the musical and personal development of its members, and achieves a high level of playing as a result of the work put in.
